Guiding Council

Who we are and how to become a member?

The Guiding Council is made up of interested individuals in the surrounding communities that wish to contribute and oversee to the running of the Recovery Center East. An ideal member would be able to self-identify with having lived experience. This experience could be a survivor of mental health systems, someone living with or lived with substance abuse issues and or someone who has experienced life interrupting challenges; someone who could share their recovery path in an impactful way as to create positive change in others. Members are requested to attend the Guiding Council meetings which are held once a month at the Riverhead Free Library at 330 Court Street Riverhead. These meetings are typically held the last Thursday of the month at 5:00pm until 6:00pm in the Writer’s Cove. If you are interested in joining the Council please feel free to attend our next meeting.
